In India, the Basic Education Council has issued a new policy to give recognition to the nursery, primary and upper primary Hindi and English medium schools. While there has been a ban on the commercial use of schools in the new policy, political and non-educational programs have been banned. The outer part of the school will be painted with white so that it can be identified. Applications for recognition will be done online. Principal Secretary of Basic Education has issued the mandate on Wednesday. Old schools will have to meet the new conditions within three years from the date of implementation of the Right to Education Act 2011. It is mandatory for the poor children to enter 25 percent of the seats in the English medium schools. This condition will not apply to minority schools
According to the new recognition policy, school buildings will be built according to the National Building Code. For school franchise options and International school franchise, there are many hard and fast rules to follow. School teachers and personnel will be trained in firefighting equipment. The state government will not grant any of these schools. Old schools will have to inform the BSA in three months. The school should be registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Schools cannot be operated to benefit. The list of non-standard schools will be prepared and put on the website of the department, the recognition will be canceled. The approval committee will be meeting twice in a year in November and March.
Private schools will not be able to take registration fees, building fees, and capitation fees. The children will be charged so much that the tuition fees, dearness fees should be enough, which is sufficient for the welfare scheme contribution for teachers and employees. Apart from this, the tuition fee, dearness fee, the annual income of the school does not save more than 20 percent after the salary payment. Fees cannot be increased by more than 10 percent. For Hindi medium schools, there will be no mandatory playground, but it will be mandatory for English medium schools. In girls’ schools and girls in densely populated urban areas schools can be relaxed in the playground.
